The IB Diploma grad class of 2021 was a part of more than 164,857 DP graduates in 3072 schools, across 153 countries worldwide.

Our IB grads achieved an excellent set of IB results, in what has been another record-breaking year for us. The average grade achieved by our students is 38 points out of a possible 45 – the world average grade is 33 points. Daniel Kim achieved a perfect score of 45 out of 45 points; he is among only 1187 students to have received this score worldwide. Well done to the IB Class of 2021 for their excellent results this year! We applaud their outstanding efforts and thank the teachers for their hard work and support. Our cohort of Diploma students took the IB Pathway and 100% of students successfully achieved the full diploma. 44 IB Course students received IB Certificates for their achievement in different subjects.

Possibilities of Post-Secondary Education

While we recognize and celebrate these results, it is even more important to congratulate these students on being offered admission to courses and universities of their first choice which will pave the way into their future. We are delighted that our students this year gained entry to major universities in Canada, UK, US and other countries.

Leadership and Service

Finally, it is also worth commending the class of 2021 for their exceptional commitment to both student leadership and service at school, and in local and international communities over the course of their two-year programme. They helped lead school clubs both in person and online such as Globalizers, Student Council, Earthworks, Model UN, Debate, and Science. They helped to organize and volunteer at local events in the community. They cared about our environment through the Surrey Adopt a Street Program and by conducting beach surveys for Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society. They volunteered at different senior centres, leading online concerts, letter campaigns, and other programs. And they promoted mental wellness and strong social connections through outreach via a variety of social media campaigns including a Semiahmoo student created, nationally available, free tutoring platform, The Learning Bridge and The Semiahmoo Study Circle. These are just to mention a few! All and all, our grads made a strong impact at our school and in the greater community.

We would also like to welcome our new cohort of 2023 and to wish them to be successful in their two-year IB journey!
